Four PMHS Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
The Pelham Public Schools is thrilled to announce that four PMHS seniors have earned recognition as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. Alexandra Herzog, Charles Johnson, Daniel Rodriguez and Cararose Vitale are among more than 16,000 students across the country to be named semifinalists by scoring among the highest in their respective states on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last year.
“On behalf of the faculty and staff of Pelham Memorial High School, I want to congratulate Alexandra, Charles, Daniel and Cararose on this prestigious achievement,” said PMHS Principal Sean Llewellyn. “These students’ success is reflective of their hard work in the classroom as well as the talent and expertise of our high school teachers. I wish them the best of luck in the next round of the National Merit competition.”
Semifinalists now have the opportunity to be named a National Merit Finalist and earn a chance to receive one of 6,870 National Merit Scholarships totalling nearly $26 million in the spring.
