Rotary Scholarship Winners Honored at Luncheon
Rotary Club of the Pelhams honored three of its PMHS Scholarship winners at a luncheon on July 26.
The three and their colleges and graduation years were Grace Condon-SUNY Binghamton ’26; Sean Condon-West Point ’27 and Samantha Gregware-Duke University ’28. A fourth scholarship winner, Caroline Spana-Villanova University ’25, will be honored at a future meeting.
Grace Condon is studying biology at Binghamton and this summer has been an intern in forensics with the NYC Police Department. She has continued her volunteer project started in high school to make sensory blankets for seniors and the project won her a NY Volunteer of the Year Award.
Sean Condon has completed his freshman year at West Point and has decided to major in the finance track of economics. He received air assault training in helicopters and has three week’s vacation before returning to four weeks of cadet training.
Samantha Gregware plans to attend Duke in September and major in neuroscience on a pre-med track. This summer she is tutoring students and is a lifeguard.
The local Rotary club awards a $15,000 annual scholarship to a graduating PMHS senior. It is paid in four installments during the student’s college career. Checks for the annual installments were presented to the three students at the July 26 meeting.
Donations from the 16 members of the local Rotary club plus money contributed by community members fund the annual scholarship. To donate, visit pelhamrotary.com
