PMHS Students Named National Merit Semifinalists

The Pelham Public Schools is thrilled to announce that four PMHS seniors have earned recognition as National Merit Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. James Blackburn, Benjamin Koff, Brooke Luce and Padraig Pearlman are among more than 16,000 students across the country to be named semifinalists by scoring among the highest in their respective states on the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test last year.

“Having four of our students named National Merit Semifinalists is an incredible honor,” said PMHS Principal Mark Berkowitz. “I want to congratulate James, Ben, Brooke and Padraig on this wonderful achievement. I also want to acknowledge our incredible faculty and staff whose expertise and professionalism lay the groundwork each day for our students’ academic success.”

Semifinalists now have the opportunity to be named a National Merit Finalist and earn a chance to receive one of 7,250 National Merit Scholarships totalling nearly $28 million in the spring.
