Deputy Mayor Bennett Receives Dr. John Marshall Award

Congratulations to Deputy Mayor Breda Bennett who received the Dr. John Marshall Award from the Pelham Recreation Department on Tuesday! This award recognizes a volunteer Pelham resident whose exemplary record of service to the Department and its programs honors Dr. Marshall’s legacy.

A longtime Pelham Manor resident, Dr. Marshall was an esteemed orthopedic surgeon with an unparalleled dedication to Pelham sports and our community.

Breda’s 14-year commitment to the Pelham Recreation Commission embodies Dr. Marshall’s spirit. Rising to become the Commission’s Chair, Breda spearheaded the creation of the Recreational Basketball League, which now boasts enrollment of approximately five hundred boys and girls during the winter months. Breda has also served in leadership positions with Pelham Little League, the Pelham Booster Club, PACT, the Prospect Hill Site-Based Council, and the local Girl Scouts.

Thank you for your ongoing volunteer service with the Village, Breda!
