December 17 – Larceny
A police officer responded to a report of a larceny at a victim’s home on Third Street. Upon checking her Ring camera the morning of December 17, the victim observed a stranger on her property from approximately 4:54 p.m. on December 11 taking a package that had been left of the victim’s doorstep. The Ring footage showed a light skinned male with a shaved head wearing a white sweatshirt with a large skull on the back of the sweatshirt, light colored pants, a shopping bag, and shoes taking the package. The video then showed the suspect leaving the property and entering the driver’s seat of a dark colored four-door sedan traveling westbound on Third Street. The victim stated that the package contained men’s Dior cologne, valued at approximately $130.00.
December 16 – Larceny
A police officer responded to a report of a larceny of two Amazon packages at a home on Third Avenue. The packages were delivered at approximately 2:30 p.m. on December 16. Upon checking his Ring camera, he viewed an unknown male walk up the steps to his front door at 3:44 p.m. and remove the Amazon packages. The suspect fled southbound on Third Avenue on foot. He was wearing a white and blue hoodie, a white face mask, black pants, and black shoes.
December 16 – Fraud
A resident on Maple Avenue notified police that he had been the victim of fraud. He received a letter on December 15 addressed to him from Verizon Wireless. The letter informed him of an urgent disconnect warning if payment in the amount of $199.33 was not paid. Upon contacting Verizon, he was informed that an unknown person had added a wireless phone line onto his account without permission. The transaction was done online on September 24 at an unknown location with the plan activated on an iPhone SE. An attempt was made on December 2 to order two iPhones, both 16 Pro Max, online, but it was not successful.
December 9 – Larceny from Vehicle
A resident on Seventh Avenue reported to the police that his Gamin GPS device was stolen from his vehicle. He noticed it was missing at approximately 8:06 a.m. on December 9. The victim’s two vehicles were parked in his driveway. At the time of this report, he was unsure if anything had been taken from the second vehicle. He was also unsure if he had locked both of his vehicles. The victim provided the responding police officer with a video which shows a suspect walking southbound on Seventh Avenue and then stepping onto the victim’s property. The video shows the suspect to be a medium built Black man with a beard and moustache wearing a heavy dark in color coat, dark pants, and white sneakers. The video ends with the suspect leaving the driveway and walking northbound on Seventh Avenue. The victim signed the owner’s deposition. It and photos of the suspect are attached to the police officer’s report.
December 9 – Larceny from Vehicle
A police officer reported to a home on Sixth Avenue for a report of a larceny in the past. The victim stated that he has parked his two vehicles in his driveway at approximately 5:00 p.m. on December 8, and at approximately 8:30 a.m. on December 9 when he returned to them, he noticed that someone had rummaged through the glove compartments of both vehicles. Approximately $8.00 was stolen from the vehicles. The victim had no surveillance cameras and did not observe anyone on his property. The police checked for surveillance equipment on surrounding properties and observed doorbell cameras at four of them. One of the police detectives was notified of this by the responding police officer.
