Village of Pelham Honored at NYCOM Annual Meeting
Mayor Chance Mullen and Village Trustee Hanan Kamal Eldahry attended the Annual Meeting of the New York State Conference of Mayors last month in Bolton Landing.

Mayor’s Response to Alleged Lack of EMS Certification
Pelham Manor Mayor Jennifer Monachino Lapey opened the May 22 Board of Trustees meeting, noting the May 14 passing of former School Board President, architect and 37-year PM resident John Sturtevant Brice, Jr., 67.

Pelham Firefighters and Police Officers Honored with Life Saving Award
Fire Captain DeSimone, Firefighter Borsella, along with Police Sergeant Hendrie, Police Officer Baerga, Police Officer Burrell, and Paramedic Orpikowski received a life-saving award from the Westchester REMSCO (Regional EMS Council).

Ecology, Sustainability Key Topics at Village Board Meeting
Sustainability Advisory Board (SAB) Co-Chairs Yenna Chan and Heather Glickman-Eliezer appeared at the Village of Pelham Board of Trustees Meeting on May 23, giving an update. SAB encompasses areas including energy conservation, alternative fuel use, waste reduction, recycling, preservation and development of open space, alternative modes of transportation, stormwater quality improvement, green building design, climate change mitigation and community resilience to natural disasters.

Historical Significance of the Hutchinson River Parkway Explored
The Village of Pelham Manor explored the historical significance of the Hutchinson River Parkway with the State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). SHPO subsequently issued a determination of eligibility. We received notice this past weekend that New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) issued a letter of concurrence with SHPO’s determination of eligibility.
