Republican Caucus Held in Pelham Manor

Mary Beth Mullins, Chair of the Pelham Manor Republican Party and Cindy Courtien, Secretary of the Caucus announced the nomination for re-election as Mayor, Jennifer Monachino-Lapey and Timothy M. Case and Daniel W. (D.J.) McLaughlin for the two Village of Pelham Manor Trustee positions. All candidates plan to run on the non-partisan Neighborhood Party line as well.

For Mayor of the Village of Pelham Manor

 

As Mayor of the Village of Pelham Manor, Jennifer has promoted fiscal responsibility, while spearheading communication, staffing and sustainability initiatives. During her tenure, Pelham Manor has remained New York State tax cap compliant and debt free. The Village boasts a low fiscal stress score and has received a favorable rating from the New York State Comptroller.

 

Jennifer is committed to Pelham Manor’s wide range of environmentally responsible programs and sustainability initiatives. The Village operates robust organic waste and recycling programs and entered into an inter-municipal agreement for food scraps recycling with the Village of Pelham. She works closely with the Village administration and service departments on Village matters. Jennifer also regularly represents Pelham Manor with constituents and outside agencies at all levels.

 

Born and raised in Pelham Manor, Jennifer is General Counsel for a privately held company in Westchester County. She graduated from Pelham Memorial High School with high honors. Jennifer attended Smith College and St. John’s University School of Law, where she earned the American Jurisprudence Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing.

 

Since returning to the community, Jennifer has held a variety of leadership positions, serving as Chair of the Pelham Preservation & Garden Society, President of the Pelham Country Club, Sustainer Representative to the Junior League of Pelham Board, Co-Chair of the Pelham Manor Citizens’ Advisory Committee and a member of the Siwanoy School Site-Based Council. In 2017, State Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, the Westchester County Board of Legislators and the Town of Pelham honored Jennifer as a Woman of Distinction for her civic engagement, her commitment to open government and her sound financial management of several organizations.

 

Jennifer is married to Ian Lapey and is the mother of Paul (22), Catherine (19), and a rescue dog named Tommy. She is an avid tennis player, competing at the USTA 4.5 level. She was inducted into the Smith College Athletics Hall of Fame, along with her varsity teammates.  

 

Timothy M. Case

For Village Trustee in the Village of Pelham Manor 

 

A Pelham Manor resident for over twenty years, Tim has an impressive record of service to the community, including significant municipal leadership experience.

Tim served as the Pelham Town Clerk for two years and as a Pelham Town Councilman for eight years. He is committed to delivering high-level services in a fiscally responsible manner.

 

An active father, Tim has coached a variety of Pelham Little League and Pelham Youth Hockey teams.  He is a dedicated member of the Pelham Civics Association, currently serving as that organization’s Vice President in charge of fundraising.

 

Professionally, Tim has worked as an accountant and in in financial services, running the trading desk for a multi-billion dollar hedge fund for 10 years.  Tim is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo, with a degree in Accounting, and passed the CPA exam.

 

An avid golfer, Tim is married to Joanne, who is active in several local organizations. They are the parents of Brad (26), Will (23) and Timmy, an eighth-grade student at Pelham Middle School, in addition to their family dog, Dallas.

For Village Trustee in the Village of Pelham Manor

 

D.J. is presently serving with distinction on the Pelham Manor Zoning Board of Appeals. He grew up in Pelham Manor and returned to the Prospect Hill area to raise his family. D.J. has lived in a few areas of Pelham Manor.  He grew up on Roosevelt Place, recently lived on Manger Circle, and now resides on Clay Avenue.

 

Since graduating from Colgate University with a B.A. in Mathematical Economics in 2006, D.J. has worked in a variety of roles in foreign exchange trading at a noted private bank in New York City. D.J. has international business experience, working in London for two years, in addition to several years in Manhattan. He is committed to the concepts of fiscal responsibility, strong municipal services and community engagement.

 

A 2002 graduate of Pelham Memorial High School, D.J. graduated from Pelham Middle School in 1998 and Prospect Hill Elementary School in 1995.

 

D.J. is married to Ariana, who has worked in various marketing roles throughout her career after graduating from Villanova University. His hobbies include skiing, golf, cooking, and proudly cheering for his old high school hockey team when not caring for his baby, Daniel III.
