PelhamReads! Back and Better than Ever for 2022

PelhamReads! was a squirrelrific success, thanks to the amazing Pelham community! Taking place between September 28th – October 2nd, PelhamReads! offered five different events aimed at all ages. More than 50 book-lovers of all ages came to the library on October 1st for the town-wide celebration of Newbery Medal winner Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures by Kate DiCamillo. The rest of the week’s highlights included a squirrel scavenger-hunt through local businesses, an adults-only Sip and Paint at the Library, and a weekend full of free fun at the Library, Art Center, and The Picture House featuring cape-making, face painting, a comic illustration demo, LEGO demo, awarding of the essay contest winners, and a screening of A Squirrel’s Guide to Success.Free coffee to fuel the adults, was provided by Cafe Ami.
The winners of the PelhamReads! Essay contest were: First Place, Veda Jain; Second Place, Josephine Gilmartin and Honorable Mentions, Brooke Gatto, Julie Mothner.
The library thanks all those who participated. There are a great many talented writers in Pelham.
