Swim Across America 17th Annual Pool Swim at NYAC Travers Island Raises $62K for Cancer Research

Emilia Boccini is all smiles after this year’s swim, her 7th consecutive year participating in the SAA event at NYAC.
Thirty-five swimmers took the plunge at the Swim Across America Long Island Sound fundraising event at the NYAC Travers Island raising approximately $62,000 for local cancer research, prevention and treatment. Proceeds from the swim, which took place on July 14, will support the Swim Across America research lab, Dr. Luis Diaz and the MSK Kids Department of Pediatrics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center; pediatric oncology research at Morgan Stanley Columbia University Medical Center; and patient services with Cancer Support Team.
