Pitch in for Parks Reaches Record Breaking Numbers for Earth Day Clean Up

The Westchester Parks Foundation Pitch in for Parks initiative reached record breaking numbers this year for its Earth Week and Earth Day volunteer program. Highlights included:
• 1,544 Lbs. of trash removed from Parks
• 17,075 sq. ft. invasive plants managed
• 3,450 sq ft. mulched
• 265 plants potted
• 224 flowers planted
• 3,930 sq. ft. painted
• 3.330 sq. ft flowerbeds maintained
• 560 trees maintained
• 15 trees planted
• 64 Trees saved
• 90 ft. boardwalk built
• 18 cubic yards of debris
• $74,305 in sweat equity invested in the parks
• 13 Parks reached
The annual event, held in partnership with the Westchester County Parks Department, took place Monday, April 17, through Saturday April 22 throughout Westchester County. For more information, visit thewpf.org.
