On Thursday, February 9th, The Picture House Bronxville celebrated its first birthday. Guests helped The Picture House celebrate by raising a glass of champagne, enjoying cupcakes, and watching a complimentary screening of the new comedy 80 For Brady. Mayor Mary Marvin and Picture House Executive Director Laura deBuys were among the 100 guests in attendance.

“It has been a joy to bring the Picture House film programming and arts education to Bronxville. It means so much to us that the community¬ — including NY State Representative Amy Paulin, County Legislator James Nolan and Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin — came out to celebrate this milestone. With this kind of community support, we look forward to many Bronxville birthdays to come!” shared Laura deBuys, President and Executive Director of The Picture House Regional Film Center.

“The entire Village is so grateful for the Picture House. It was just frankly so sad and unthinkable that we would lose a movie theater after continuous operation since 1929 and the Picture House came to our rescue and was truly our guardian angel.” Added Mayor Mary Marvin.
